Firejammer

Cover illustration for Firejammer by Jeff Duntemann. The author had a strong vision of what he was looking for: a pulp feel with a shuttle descending onto an alien planet next to a tall volcano with a lava lake in the background, and he already knew the type layout he wanted, which was his name at the top and the title along the bottom. My goal was to make the shuttle the focal point, which is an interesting challenge when competing with the bright reds and yellows of lava.
